Introduction Our Walking with Jesus and Hearts for God Bible studies are designed to promote good health stewardship through a series of journeys with Old and New Testament characters that illustrate healthful attitudes for your body, mind, and soul. Our curriculum, Growing Green, is available for elementary age children and combines physical, environmental, and spiritual health content with activities to emphasize God's call for responsible creation care. We have a new first journey of Young Hearts 4 God ready for elementary age children.
Walking with Jesus This basic, seasonal walking study includes a full year program of five 8- and 12-week journeys that follow the travels of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, Jesus during his ministry, and the Apostles as they go into the world. Two special 8-week adult programs: one for Lent and a new one on the Parables that can be used any time of the year. Three 8-week elementary-age programs match the adult programs for: Advent to Epiphany; Lent; and the new Parables. With weekly Bible verses, commentary, maps, and a prayer for the journey the studies encourage people to get going on an exercise program while also strengthening their body, mind, and spirit.
Hearts for God This in-depth cardiovascular health study includes a series of eight 6-week journeys for healthy living. The studies explore Old and New Testament Biblical stores that illustrate heart healthy attitudes and actions with Psalms, commentary, hymns, prayers, and thoughts for reflection. With weekly exercise goals and recipes for group preparation and table fellowship, the studies include practical background, guidelines, and resources for heart healthy living.
Growing Green Help your children understand environmental health and how it relates to their own health! Our curriculum is for children in 2nd through 5th grade and includes 7 weekly sessions. We have included K to 1st graders by having staff and older children help the younger ones with activities. With information content for teachers, handouts, activities, games, and healthy snack ideas, the seven segments can also be adapted for VBS and aftershool programs.
Young Hearts 4 God (New Program for 2010 !) Young Hearts 4 God program is now available. This heart healthy program for elementary age children can be used for summer camps, VBS, Sunday School, or afterschool. The program parallels the adult version with a start-up session and six segments of Old and New Testament stories, basic information about how the heart works, and healthy tips for nutrition, exercise, and managing stress. Fun games and activities include ways to make children's favorite foods and recipes more heart healthy.
